Keeping It Real…..

If you have been following me on faceboookinstagram or even just through my blog lately, you will have seen that I am on a crazy exciting journey at the moment!

You would have seen that I travelled half way across the world to Texas, to attend a conference I felt God called me to. You would have seen that next month we are off again, this time to Mexico to build homes for 2 families who are currently living on the streets. You would have seen that I have the most amazing, supportive (good looking!) husband in the world and that I have been Blessed with the 2 most awesome teenagers on the planet! Yes, I am one incredibly Blessed Chicken!

God is definitely shifting my focus, my direction and how He want’s me to make an impact in my world. It’s exciting, it’s scary and at the moment I am living in wild anticipation of what God has in store for me!

But you know what? My life is still very normal and real. I still have to wash dishes, do laundry, and run round like a taxi after the kids. I still need to cook, clean and do all those mundane things that keep our feet firmly on the ground.

I have good days and I have bad days. Some days my hair is a such a mess, all I can do is to wear a baseball cap to hide its wildness. My wrinkles are getting wrinklier and some days the dark circles around my eyes are all I can see when I look in the mirror!

I struggle with all my imperfections and I often ask God “Why?”
I look in the mirror and I don’t see what other people see.
I second guess my decisions and question if I really do hear from God.
Some days I don’t read my Bible and some days I forget to thank God for all He has given me.

There is nothing particularly special about me, I am just a normal girl who has said Yes to God! I am trying to make the most out of this precious life He has given me.

Everything I do is not done in my own strength! If it was left completely up to me, I would stuff up time and time again and fall flat on my face (which I still do on occasion!). But look at just a few of the scriptures God has given us to show that with Him, we can do amazing things:

Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”

Mark 9:23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Luke 18:27 But he said, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.

Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Job 42:2 I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
