I Am Learning To Celebrate Each Season

Life is full of seasons and I am (slowly) learning to love each one!

There are good seasons, bad seasons, boring seasons, adventurous seasons, busy seasons, quiet seasons, gosh there are even seasons within seasons!

The thing I love about seasons is that they don’t last forever. There is always another one around the corner.

I have learned over the years (makes me sound quite old and wise really!) that I have to learn to love the season I am in and not always look to the next one coming. I am one of these people that always look forward to things. I am the countdown Queen! Doesn’t matter whether it’s Christmas, birthdays, holidays, or even family visiting (yes, that is a good thing!) I love to countdown and get excited for things to come.

But I have also learned to enjoy the season I am in and not miss any of the Blessings God has for me in each season. Sure, in some seasons I have to look a little harder to find them, but they are always there. It doesn’t matter how bad the current season may seem, there will always be Blessings if I look for them. Even in the bleakest of times, God is always with me, speaking to me, holding my hand and encouraging me along the way.

Now, to be honest, I am sure I have missed Blessings in my life because I was too busy to notice them. Too busy whining about my circumstances, too preoccupied with the things of this world, too caught up in my own wee problems that I failed to see them. But God is a loving and gracious God, and so I know without a doubt there will be an abundance of Blessings for me……as long as I slow down enough and open my eyes to see them!

So as much as I am counting down to Christmas (ohhh, it’s so nearly here people), I am also learning to enjoy the lead up to it. I am learning, be it ever so slowly, to enjoy every season and the Blessings that come with it.
