Do You Know What You Stand For?

Last week I took a stand and, to be honest, I struggled writing that post! (you can read it here if you missed it)

I got Phil to read and re-read it for me and take some bits out! I asked God if He really did want me to share it, even though I know He woke me up at 3am and asked me to write it. I added bits, I deleted bits, I hit publish….got nervous and unpublished it, then published it again! It was a battle and in the end, God won! (As I knew He would!)

It’s easy to write about chickens and sheep and how awesome my kids are. It’s easy to write about what a fantastic husband I have and how Blessed I am. It’s easy to write about “nice” stuff that won’t offend anyone. Most of the time, I like easy, and really, who doesn’t?

But God has been challenging me lately on what I stand for. He reminded me that He has given me a voice and a platform to share it. It’s a personal choice whether people read my blog or not, but I feel I have an obligation to God, myself and my readers to be real, to be honest, and to make it known what I stand for. It is never my intention to offend anyone who reads my blog, but, on the other hand, as Phil tells me “It’s your blog, you can write whatever you like”

So what do I stand for?

I stand for God. First and for most He is who I live for, He is my number one priority in everything I do.

I stand for Marriage. I believe one of the devils tactics is to destroy marriage and everything it represents. I believe God wants us to have marriages that are filled with love, intimacy, and a deep desire to bring out the best in our partner. I believe He wants marriages void of violence, pornography, abuse and isolation. He want’s marriages where it’s not 50/50, it’s 100% from both people. He wants fun, laughter and fulfilment. And He wants marriages overflowing with grace and acceptance.

I stand for Family. Families where each person is loved and valued for who they are. Where parents love and cherish their kids, and kids love and respect their parents. Families who do life together and who know what they stand for as a family. A place of safety, security and unconditional love.

I stand for women. I know God has called me to encourage and support women to be all He has called them to be. To be the voice when they have don’t have one, to be their biggest cheerleader, to believe in them, when they can’t believe in themselves, and to speak truth and light into their lives.

I stand for fun and adventure. I know this may sound like a bit of a silly thing to stand for, but I don’t do boring! I know God has planted a spirit of adventure in me and so I live my life always looking for the fun in life and not settling for the mundane. It is my hope that by living outside of the box, that I can encourage others to do the same. To be all and have all that God has planned for me. To not miss a thing because I have my eyes shut or my head down.

So, those are just a few of the things I stand for. It has been a great exercise for me doing this, figuring out what is important to me and what are non-negotiables in my life.

So, I will end this with a question for you:
