Saved By The Prayers Of Others!
I have 2 amazing prayer warriors in my life.
One is my Mum who has prayed for me forever and the other is a lady at church.
I am sure there are a few more people that pray for me, and a few more who think I need it, but I know these 2 ladies are committed to praying for me.
I am so thankful to both of them!
Ever since we arrived in Te Awamutu I know this lady has been praying for our whole family, and I am so thankful!
To know that someone is standing with you, and in some cases standing for you is so comforting.
The other month she said she was specifically praying for one of my family members. She said she didn’t know why but was just being obedient. She had no idea they were going through a particularly hard time and really needed the prayer covering. She just felt prompted to pray…so she did!
We all need people like that in our lives!
She came to me a couple of weeks ago and said that God had woken her at 3 am to pray for me. The first thing I did was apologize that she was woken at that time because of me, and we joked about how God loves to do that! But she said she was up for a couple of hours praying.
I honestly couldn’t think of a reason why God would have woken her. Apart from my usual small complaints, I thought I was actually in a good space!
But the more I thought about it, I wondered what her prayers had saved me from. I wondered what may have happened if she hadn’t been praying for me, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude for her prayer covering that kept me safe from who knows what!
We are so ready to complain to God about unanswered prayers, but how often do we thank him for the answers to prayers (often prayed by others) that we may never actually realize?
The child who was speared a serious illness.
The family member who was so close to walking away from God.
The accident that ‘almost’ occurred.
The thing that just ‘miraculously’ happened.
Those things that we just take for granted.
We can miss so many blessings in our lives when we get busy or distracted with life. And I wonder how many prayers are prayed that we take for granted.
This week I have been thanking God for all the things that haven’t happen! I don’t know what they are but I am so thankful for the prayers of others that have carried me, upheld me, or saved me.
It’s not something I am going to take for granted from now on and I’m thankful for those who, when prompted, pray for me.
If you have ever prayed for me, thank you!
And now when God places people on my heart, I pray. I may not know what for, but I pray because you never know what my prayers might be saving someone from!
